Chapter 01
Master plan before a single plant is bought
Most yards in Cincinnati end up as four separate decisions made in four separate years. A patio goes in one summer, a walkway gets poured the next, a deck follows whenever the budget allows, and the planting is whatever fits around what is already there. Perrino Landscape draws the whole property first, before any of it is built, so the patio, the pool surround, the sidewalk and the deck are one decision instead of four.
That single drawing is what lets a designer see a problem before it becomes concrete. A downspout that would have drained straight into a new bed, a walkway that would have crossed the one spot with full afternoon sun, a deck post that would have landed on top of a root flare. Andy Perrino has run the practice since 1999, and the habit of drawing the whole property before breaking ground is the same one he started with.

Seeing it before it is built
A homeowner does not have to picture a plan from a hand sketch. Perrino Landscape presents the design using CAD and 3D rendering software, so you can walk through the layout, the plant massing and the hardscape before a single yard of stone is delivered to Wooster Rd for pickup. If a bed line looks wrong on screen, it gets moved on screen, which is a much cheaper place to fix it than after installation has started.
Once a homeowner signs off on the rendering, the crew does not work from that image. They work from a separate set of detailed construction drawings, dimensioned and specified the way a builder would read them, with grades, materials and plant counts called out. That second document is what keeps a Cincinnati install honest to the plan a client actually approved.
Chapter 03
Where the hardscape and the planting meet
A pool, a patio, a sidewalk and a deck are usually treated as separate contracts by separate trades, and the planting is whatever gets tucked in around the edges afterward. Perrino Landscape integrates the hardscape into the planting plan from the start, which is a different exercise. A bed line has to account for pool equipment access. A patio edge has to leave room for a mature shrub's spread, not just its size at install. A walkway has to be planned with the drainage that already runs across a Cincinnati lot.
Getting that sequence right the first time is why clients in Indian Hill and Mt. Lookout keep coming back for a second project rather than hiring a separate patio contractor and a separate planting crew and hoping the two plans line up.
Designers given room to answer you
A design practice can be trained and still be rigid, handing a homeowner a template with the plant names changed. Perrino Landscape's designers are trained and competent, and they are given the flexibility to respond creatively to what a homeowner actually asks for rather than steering every project toward the same five plants.
